Integrated Functional Solutions

For Lawyers: Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to have a Functional Capacity Evaluation completed?

Usually just after the treatment or rehabilitation phase has been completed to determine the person's functional abilities, as a person's abilities can change after receiving active treatment.

Alternatively, if there has been a change in condition, then an FCE can be used to determine the best course of action for further treatment and your client's ability to work safely in his present job title.

When is the best time for a Cost of Care Evaluation?

When treatment has plateaued and no immediate surgeries are planned, ideally 6 to 8 months before a trial to ensure that the information is current and accurate.

A Cost of Future Care Evaluation (i.e. Life Care Plan) will identify gaps in treatment and is a useful tool for developing a comprehensive treatment plan to enable maximum improvement and function post-injury and addresses quality of life issues.
